First Ally Capital Marks 10 Years with Grand Celebrations and Strategic Expansions

Introduction

In a series of events that blended gratitude, innovation, and forward-thinking vision, First Ally Capital Limited celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a significant milestone in its journey as a leading player in Nigeria’s financial services industry.

The anniversary festivities kicked off with a Thanksgiving Service on October 27 at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, The King’s Court, Victoria Island, Lagos. Employees, Directors and their spouses gathered, wearing colourful Adire fabrics, symbolising unity and cultural heritage. The service was a moment of reflection and gratitude to God for a decade of accomplishments and challenges overcome.

On November 5, the company took a significant step in its expansion strategy by officially opening the newly built office of its asset management subsidiary at 3 Kenema Close, off Ademola Adetokunbo, Wuse II, Abuja. The branch office will not only continue to provide comprehensive asset and fund management services to First Ally’s clients in Abuja and other parts of Northern Nigeria, it will also enable other subsidiaries of First Ally Capital to seamlessly extend their services beyond Lagos. This modern facility also emphasises First Ally’s commitment to providing state-of-the art facilities and the enabling environment for employee creativity and productivity.

The celebrations reached their peak on November 8 with an elegant Gala Night at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos. The black-tie event was attended by industry leaders, clients, partners, regulatory officials, and other dignitaries. It served as a platform to showcase First Ally’s growth and unveil new strategic initiatives that underscore the firm’s commitment to innovation and excellence.

During the gala, First Ally announced the rebranding of its microfinance subsidiary to First Ally Trust Microfinance Bank Limited, reflecting a renewed focus on leveraging technology to enhance financial inclusion. The microfinance bank aims to provide innovative financial solutions to the underbanked and underserved segments of the population, aligning with the company’s mission of creating opportunities that foster growth.

The company also highlighted the launch of First Ally Advisory Limited and First Ally Trustees Limited. With First Ally Advisory Limited now holding the company’s issuing house and underwriting license through which it provides specialised services in capital market transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructurings, First Ally Trustees Limited offers trustee services, allowing the company to meet the fiduciary and custodial needs of its clients in an increasingly complex financial landscape.

Focus was also on First Ally Properties Limited, the group’s real estate arm responsible for acquiring, developing and managing its properties and those of its clients. The subsidiary has contributed significantly to the group’s asset base and operational capabilities, enabling First Ally to operate from strategically located and well-equipped facilities. This includes the company’s headquarters on Ajose Adeogun Street, adorned with contemporary artworks that inspire innovation and excellence.

The event also spotlighted MyInvestar, an investment and savings App powered by the group’s asset management subsidiary, First Ally Asset Management. The App is a platform that allows users to seamlessly invest in a variety of financial products, providing transparency, accessibility, and efficiency. MyInvestar aligns with First Ally’s vision of leveraging technology to enhance client experiences and foster financial growth among individuals and institutions.

Speaking at the gala dinner, the Group Managing Director/CEO, Ebenezer Olufowose remarked:

“Our tenth anniversary is not just a celebration of our past achievements but a bold statement of our future ambitions. We have built a strong foundation, and we are now poised to scale new heights, leveraging innovation, strategic partnerships, and the dedication of our talented team.”

First Ally’s growth over the past decade has been marked by strategic partnerships, including collaborations with fintech companies like Migo, and memberships of influential organisations such as the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, EnterpriseNGR, and the Nigeria British Chamber of Commerce. These alliances have enhanced the company’s capacity to deliver value-added services and expand its global footprint.

First Ally demonstrates robust financial health and a commitment to delivering returns to its investors. The company employs over 150 staff and operates from Lagos and Abuja.

As the company looks to the future, it plans to continue leveraging technology, expanding its service offerings, and nurturing talent to maintain its position as a trusted ally in the financial services sector.
